About this book

Overview

Theme is THE ZOO. Anorak's zoo is a vast place where only the loveliest animals roam around. Sloths, gorillas, camels and pandas, and all you need to know about these lovely creatures. Interviews with animal experts and 60 pages of activities, stories, games, recipes and fact-based features on animals (and endangered species).

Regular contributors include:

Adam Higton: Would love to live in the woods, but instead lives in a flat in the South of England (Bristol). Wears cloaks and long hair, and has an obsession with wizards and German prog rock.

Matt Bromley: Skateboarder extraordinaire from Bedfordshire. Half-goblin half-human. Loves 70s kids books. Has worked on Anorak TV and is the mastermind behind GOOBER the Goblin.

Katey Jean Harvey: Born in the North of England. Now in London, likes to draw grumpy girls in cute dresses. Loves her cat.

Evgenia Barinova: Young Russian illustrator based in London. Graduated a couple of years ago. Lovesskateboarding in her spare time.

?Pablo de Rueda aka PINTA CHAN: Born and bred in the north of Spain where he lives with his wife and son, Tobias. Has his own shop dedicated to all things retro, Naranjas Chinas.

Cathy Olmedillas is the founder, editor, and creative director. Born in France from Spanish and Italian parents. Childhood spent in France, Switzerland, and Morocco. Moved to London 22 years ago. Launched Anorak in 2006 in response to her passion for books and magazines and despair at hyper-commercial kids mag-book market. 'Nominated first of top three 'hot new prints' -Time Magazine.

'A unique and beautifully designed magazine for kids, totally unlike anything else on the market. The illustrations are beautiful enough to please the most finickity parent, and fun enough to engage children' -The Guardian.

'The most delightful children's magazine.' -Tyler Brule, Monocle.

'A quarterly publication bursting with ideas and inspiration, and urging its young readers to tap into their own imaginations.' -Telegraph.

"In everything Anorak does, the saccharine, fat and starch of the usual children's fare has been replaced by the true sweetness of homegrown organic fare. Extreme fun for the kids and a visual delight for all. YUM!" Francoise Mouly, Editorial Director, TOON Books Art Editor, The New Yorker
